About our Providers Our offering of health care providers includes: Dr. Namrata (Sonia) Choudhary , Dr. Shalini Varshney, and Certified Nurse Midwife/Nurse Practitioner Laurie Niergarth . All Doctors are board certified or board eligible. Our obstetrician/gynecologists have active privileges at Reston Hospital Center.
DOCTOR: Dr. Namrata Choudhary
Dr. Namrata (Sonia) Choudhary is board certified and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been named life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who. Dr. Choudhary has been in the U.S. since age seven. She is married and has three children. Dr. Choudhary graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class and attended the honors’ college at the University of South Carolina, where she received a scholarship. She then attended the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston. Dr. Choudhary did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island, New York’s Nassau County Medical Center, affiliated with Stony Brook University. During her residency, Dr. Choudhary served as chief resident and was on the hospital medical executive committee. She was also nominated as a Professional Woman Leader and was recognized for her research on gestational trophoblastic disease (molar pregnancy). After completing her residency in 1996, she practiced in North Carolina. There, Dr. Choudhary lectured on menopausal issues and appeared as a medical reporter for Raleigh television. Dr. Choudhary has been in the Northern Virginia area since 1998. She has received recognition for her English essays and won state awards for public speaking. Dr. Choudhary is fluent in Hindi and Urdu. She speaks some Spanish and has studied classical Greek and Latin. Dr. Choudhary has experience with assault victims and has testified in criminal cases. She has a background in psychology and works extremely well with adolescents.
Dr. Choudhary is married with three children. Recently, she has been listed among America’s top Obstetricians & Gynecologists by Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. Choudhary has also been honored locally by patients who have made grants naming her as a favorite physician.

ASSOCIATE DOCTOR: Dr. Shalini Varshney

Dr. Shalini Varshney is a highly qualified board eligible Obstetrician/Gynecologist relocating to the Northern Virginia area. She is a warm, caring, and compassionate individual, who brings with her quality and experience. Dr. Varshney is guided by her love for the care of women. She is a mother of young twin boys and enjoys writing poetry and practicing yoga.

Dr. Varshney did Family Practice internship before she finished her Ob/Gyn residency, after which she joined private practice in the Atlantic City area. Dr. Varshney was a practicing Ob/Gyn for six and a half years before she joined the previous group in New Jersey, where she practiced for another two years.

Dr. Varshney has special interests in preventive medicine and adolescent gynecology.
She has authored many short stories and has written many philosophical and motivational pieces.

ASSOCIATE: Laurie Niergarth

Laurie Niergarth is a Certified Nurse Midwife/Nurse Practitioner with years of office experience in the holistic care of women, ranging from adolescence to menopause. She is well loved by her patients. Laurie has three children, who are active in sports and the local 4-H club.

Laurie graduated from University of Michigan in 1998 as a midwife.
She has three years of experience doing deliveries. Additionally, she has 12 years of experience
as a nurse practitioner. Laurie is involved in healthcare community outreach service.
