DOCTOR:  Dr. Namrata Choudhary

 


Dr.Namrata (Sonia) Choudhary - OB/GYN - is board certified and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been named life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who. Dr.Choudhary has been in the U.S. since age seven. She is married and has three children. Dr.Choudhary graduated as a Valedictorian of her high school class and attended the honors’ college at the University of South Carolina, where she received a scholarship. She then attended the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston. Dr.Choudhary did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Long Island, New York’s Nassau County Medical Center, affiliated with Stony Brook University.

During her residency, Dr.Choudhary served as chief resident and was on the hospital medical executive committee. She was also nominated as a Professional Woman Leader and was recognized for her research on gestational trophoblastic  disease (molar pregnancy). Dr.Choudhary also held an instructor position at Stony Brook. After completing her residency in 1996, Dr. Choudhary practiced in North Carolina. There, she lectured on menopausal issues and appeared as a medical reporter on Raleigh television. Dr.Choudhary has been in the northern Virginia area since 1998.
 

Dr.Choudhary has received recognition for her English essays and won awards for public speaking. She is fluent in Hindi and Urdu. She speaks some Spanish and has studied classical Greek and Latin. Dr.Choudhary has worked with with assault victims and has testified in criminal cases.

 

ASSOCIATE DOCTOR:  Dr. Reepa Shah

Dr. Reepa Shah - OB/GYN - is a distinguished physician who recently completed her residency training at the George Washington University Hospital . She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Shah graduated at the top of her high school class, then went on to complete the prestigious Seven-Year medical program at Boston University. At the College of Arts and Sciences she completed a double major in biochemistry and comparative religion, as well as a minor in sociology. She graduated Magna Cum Lauda, and also received the Richard Ellis Katz Award, her department’s top award.  She then completed medical school at Boston University School of Medicine, where her research on thyroid disease in pregnancy earned her recognition, and she again graduated Magna Cum Lauda.


  DR. Reepa Shah

Prior to residency, Dr. Shah completed a rare and unique Reproductive Endocrinology research fellowship at the NIH in Bethesda , where her work in the areas of polycystic ovarian syndrome and estrogen/androgen replacement resulted in several prestigious publications. Her other professional interests have included work on committees and lobby groups to protect the healthcare rights of women and patients. Her clinical  interests, in addition to general obstetrics and gynecology, include advanced laparoscopy and vulvo-vaginal disorders.

Dr. Shah  was born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York. She has been in the Northern Virginia area since 2000. Dr. Shah is married and has a one-year old son.  She is fluent in English and Gujarati, and speaks some Hindi and Spanish.
 

Associate Doctor Constanza Rutland

Dr.Rutland completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California, known for its excellence in management of high risk pregnancies, advancements in urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, as well as surgical expertise in gynecologic oncology. She has trained under distinguished leaders in gynecologic oncology, general gynecology, and maternal fetal medicine. During her residency, she served as administrative chief resident and was known for providing top quality care with great compassion. During her medical education at Howard University, College of Medicine she earned recognition for her superb performance in obstetrics and gynecology. She has received several awards to include excellence in surgical subspecialties, bioethics, and has been recognized as a national Medical Fellowship scholar.


  Dr. Costanza Rutland 

Dr. Rutland is a junior fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a board eligible candidate for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also serves as an active member of AMA and National Medical Association. Her clinical interests in addition to general obstetrics and gynecology include treatment of large uterine fibroids, advanced laparoscopy, and new urogynecologic techniques.

Dr. Rutland was born to parents with medical background. She was deeply influenced by her mother, an intensive care nurse, and her father, an Ob/Gyn himself. Dr. Andrew Rutland, a leader in minimal invasive gynecologic surgery also holds a law degree. She has recently relocated to the Northern Virginia area with her thirteen year old daughter to join us at Women First Ob/Gyn.
